I have a HT-C5500/XEU 5.1 BLUE RAY PLAYER, which has just come out of storage after a couple of years.
Just set it up and have a strange sound on the sub-base and only the sub, the only way to describe it is like a heart beat. Any ideas has to what the problem is? Not sure it's worth sending to the service centre with the price of repairs. I'm hand with a soldering iron and can follow instructions if needed.

@PuyRobin Do disc still play ok otherwise? Anyway the noise could be a fan issue. Try the following to see if it makes any difference :
Turn off the power, and press and hold the STOP ( ■ ) button on the product
for longer than 5 seconds with no disc inserted, could also Reset. see information in manual https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201003/20100330123447578/HT-C5500_ENG-02258B-REV.00_02...
However if no resolution would need an inspection, we do not permit the discussion of D.I.Y. repairs in the open community.

Hello James,
Thank you for your reply I have tried this -
It has made no difference I still have the heart beat sound in the sub-base. It's a shame the forum will not allow the discussion of repairs as it would save it going to land-feel.
Thank you for your reply.

Just thinking aloud here is there something reasonable priced I can replace it with leaving the speakers in place, not wanting to send the whole thing to the dump if I can help it. As the service centre here in France wanted over 100e just to have a look & a 160km drive, god knows how much the repair would come to..

There is this one on Amazon France or could look at alternatives listed https://www.amazon.fr/Samsung-BD-J4500- (originally releasesd 2015),Samsung stopped producing new ones after 2018 and not so easy to source some of them.

Hi Jame's,
Thank you for your reply.
The tem you linked to is just a player, the problem I have is with the amp side of things, the problem would persist.
Do you know what models share the same amp pcb ?

Not quite sure, sourcing not straightforward. I did notice Samsung 5.1 Blu-Ray HD DVD Home Cinema Player Amplifier Receiver Amp 3x HDMI USB on 2nd hand market in uk.
