Hi,
I do have some copied DVD's on a file server.
When playing them, I can choose a VTS-file, resulting in an error on audio.
Or I can choose a Vob file, which does play perfectly.
Only I can not choose the subtitles in the vob, neither acces the disc menu of the original DVD, because the DVD is copied to the file server. It does neither appear in the options-menu. Although there are one or multiple subtitles available in the vob.
Any idea's on how to access them ?
Paul

Hey Paul, welcome to our Community! As you can see on page 60 of your Bluray player's manual, *.vts files aren't officially supported so that does explain why audio isn't working properly. To be able to load the subtitles for your *.vob files it should be sufficient to give the subtitle files the exact same name as the moviefile, and be placed in the same folder. Does that help?
If not, is it possible to rip/convert the DVD's to an *.mkv file? This is a more interactive format in which you can include the subtitles into the moviefile.

Thanx.
Ripping themto a mkv-file is an option.
It just seems weird to me that a DVD player is not capable to read the subtitles inside a vob-file:-).

To be honest I don't have that much experience with VOB files, I have done a whole lot of ripping and making my own DVD menus with Adobe Encore back in the day but I never really touched the VOB's. You could try messing around with the IFO-files, in case it's a font-issue that's preventing the subs to load, or try a different codec when ripping. File-specific issues like this are always a bit of a puzzle.

Hi,
Messing around with the IFO-files is not a solution, as they are not supported.
So, as I wrote, I'm learning to create MKV-files as a work around.
Kind Regards,
Paul

Yeah, the IFO-part was a bit of a long shot, if I had more time I'd love to try some stuff at home, but I'm afraid I'm a little short on spare time. This looks promising though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W93bC0x1AC0
