My BD-F5500, blu-ray player is not recognised by my TV, it says to check connections, which I have done. I've tried different cables, different HDMI ports, but I still get the same result. I have done a reset on the player (press and hold fast fwd button for 5 secs) still no difference. Help please!

I assume you have the latest firmware as not updated since 2013. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/BD-D5500/XU/ Manual says to press the stop buttons for at least 5 seconds to reset. obviously does not seem to be an issue with the HDMI cable. you could try disconnecting cable and unplugging for 5 minutes before reinserting. However may well need a repair which would not be worthwhile for a model of this age.
