Is photo post processing cheating ?

If AI is a threat, what about all the existing photo editing tools?

Photo editing with tools like Lightroom or Snapseed isn't considered cheating; it's a creative process to enhance and refine an image. Most photographers use post-processing to adjust lighting, colours, or composition, aligning the final result with their artistic vision.

So is this not cheating and if we are to watermark AI altered content, surely the same should apply to any other editing software.

What do you think?

As AI learns from us, it is possible that AI will be able to process a photo exactly as we would do it ourselves using available tools like Snapseed.

Yes, but i think water mark should be only on AI generated images, if you put effort into editing without help of AI like with lightroom i think it shouldn't be with a watermark, just my 2 cents on this 😊

Maybe, but I'm no longer sure that Lightroom is a 100% human tool today, I think AI has been incorporated into Lightroom as well

Is it though? So is the movies cheating? Is it not artistic licence? I ofteen tweak picture as the camera doesn't always take picture as realistic as we want, so need to tweak to show what I saw and wanted to take

I am not using AI, that is my manual tweak

I think AI stuff needs to be water marked

Yes, AI stuff needs to be marked.

But AI is still just a tool behind which a human stands, and it will need to be redefined whether AI art can be authorized, because even using Snapseed or Lightroom you can't say it was made by a human, the processing was done by a computer and programs, just like with AI.

If Lightroom uses AI, then Lightroom should also have a watermark when using AI tools in it, right?
