To explain a little more. Gpt and llama (open ai and meta) were trained on real human Internet data. Deepseek was late to the party so most social media now block ai training. So they used gpt4 and other existing ai models to train their model. So it wasn't trained on real data, it was trained on ai generated data. The outcome of that, it's like someone merged all the best ai models together and released it for free. Issue is, those models it trained on have safety systems in place. So deepseek will have absolutely zero knowledge of controversial topics and events. A better term is it's a distilled model created from currently existing models.

If you have 404gb of ram handy, you can run the whole thing offline. Or about 8 maxed out m4 mac minis

Maybe Samsung has the right idea, on device processing, focused on privacy, that becomes a core reason for purchase, based on technology and trust.

Bet Apple will be bricking it, put all their eggs in the ChatGPT basket, bet DeepSeek has them 💩💩💩

Rather than have Governments tell the models what to brain wash us with, maybe we need a Matrix Unplug option, we as individuals decide the personality and views of our models, but like Data from Star Trek 😮
