BACK TO STUDY – GOOGLE/APPLE/MICROSOFT or SAMSUNG AI

As students in the UK and beyond prepare (and their parents) for the new academic year, I was asked a question by my niece and would like everyone’s thoughts, in particular those with recent experiences o f what college life needs, to avoid any pitfalls like I did with my son’s school Chromebook (which was a waste of money).

QUESTION - Do you both think that an iPad with a pen would be better over a touch screen laptop for college or just stick to notebooks, I’m in a dilemma.

NOTE: She owns an iPhone, watch Airpods, but also a Windows gaming PC and laptop

My thoughts were to make use of Samsung AI Not Assist, I use it albeit ad hoc not frequently, also came across the article below.

OPTIONS SO FAR

Samsung Tablet – Add a tablet, but mess up your Apple ecosystem, but gain AI Note tools

Apple iPad Pro – build on existing ecosystem

Microsoft Surface Pro - is best compromise, but unsure what o/s the college favours

I'd personally stick with Apple if it's for college due to synchronization of everything. It's so helpful for something like college that's stressful enough. Don't need to be mediating the relationship between Samsung and iCloud aswell. 😅

Agreed, as an update we have held off until after her first week or two, to see what is actually beneficial.
