As the title suggests my smarttag is running out of battery every week. Even the batteries don't even have a charge. I've tried multiple diffrent brands but they all seem to die in a week I'm wondering if I've got a defective St what somehow is draining massive amounts of power

Use duracell if possible, expensive but work better.

Also if you keep checking the tag it will drain battery as well.

Make sure smartthings and smarthings find is updated and in proper sync with the tag. Check when you are home.

Are you referring to GEN 1 or GEN2 tags ?

For sure use decent Duracell, 2 weeks is very bad and not normal.

I thought it might be due to the cold weather but it's only around 7c but would that drain the battery aswell

Mine stays in the car, quite cold, temperature impact shouldn't be more than negligible
