Hello

I recently bought Samsung 65Q60a

I know Samsung doesn't support DTS any more

But I download an Mkv codec movie with atmos audio

but I can't play that it keeps saying "The selected file is currently not supported"

is that because I need a soundbar? or is it just a tv issue?

I don't have a soundbar  btw

is tv able to play those files at all?

thanks for helping ❤️

hi

I'm trying to play an MKV video on my Q60a Tv via HDD USB

but I get this Error :

"The selected file is currently not supported"

the file contains Atmos sound

I just want to know if I buy Soundbar, the video playback problem will be solved on TV? Or not

thanks for reply

The way I'm reading that error is that it is the mkv codec that is not supported. If you can, try converting the video to mp4. If the mp4 video (still with Dolby Atmos audio) plays the video, but not the audio, then you need to convert the audio codec. I'd suggest m4a for that.

of course you need a soundbar and not only a soundbar, you need soundbar for dolby atmos like Q600 or Q700 remember Dolby atmos it’s a license from DOLBY and the devise, need to have this……. Samsung tv don’t want to pay this license so it’s possible okay Dolby atmos without soundbar especific for Dolby atmos
