Tv sound

I would like to see a tv with forward facing speakers. Sound bars are ugly and not very good. Tvs in the old days had a much better sound and looked good. I don't see the problem with stereo speakers on each side. Tvs now days are loud everywhere except in front of the tv where the watcher is usually positioned. The first tv producer to adopt this idea will corner the market.

@Sly8  Admittedly  a number would see the attraction but Tv's are thinner nowadays (partly due to consumer demand) and speakers are located in a tight space.  would not think much chance of it happening and many are happy  with Soundbars.
