Emergency call.

Hi. My 999 call was answered but the call handler couldn't hear me. She stated 3 times what is the number you have dialled and that if she didn't get a response she would terminate the call. Which she did. I have tried ee and BT who can't help. It's very scary as I can't try again fir obvious reasons.

Was it just a call to 999 that had this issue or is it an issue with all calls?

Just the 999 call.

Very likely to have been a one off then.

Very occasionally you'll connect to a line which doesn't work well. It happens.

Won't be your device as other calls working fine.

Thank you. It was very scary and I'm scared if the situation arose again and there is no one else there to call 999.

In the (hopefully) unlikely event you'll ever need to call 999, if the call doesn't connect properly then simply disconnect and redial.

Totally appreciate this adds a few extra seconds during a stressful time but with any telephone service (mobile, landline, VoIP) this can happen.
