2 step verification not working

Trying to get to Samsung pass on my phone and its telling me to set up 2 step verification. I put my number in and it sends the code. I enter the code and hit ok and it closes the app. When I open the app it has the same set up message and does the same thing. How do I get past this so I can use my account?

Well with misbehaving apps, try the old "turn it off and on again" by pressing and holding the app icon until it gives you options, and choose "app info", then click force stop, and clear the data. Then launch the app and try again.

Thank you for your help. I did the force stop and cleared the cache and data. That cleared it up.
