recover sd backup

Hi everybody,

I backed up my s20+ on the sd card, hoping to transfer all the files on my s21u. Unfortunately, the s21 does not have sd support, so now i do not now how to recover the back up since it is not showing in sidesync when i connect everything to the pc.... and the files i'm interested in have the extension *.jpg_ 

any suggestion?

hello 

there are ways to transfer files 

A. 

1. install Smart Switch to your PC from this link so the PC can detect the S21U

Windows 

Mac

2. once installed, connect SD card and S21U to PC

3. no need to use the app, you may now browse through the PC's file explorer of your SD card then swing the files back and forth of your PC to phone

4. restart the PC if needed

B.  

1. If you wish to transfer all files from your old to new phone, you can use Smart Switch app on both S20+ and S21U

can be downloaded from Play Store

C. 

1. On your S20+, you can store/upload images to cloud storages then download to S21U

a. Google Photos app / photos.google.com

b. OneDrive App

I did as you suggested, connected s21u and sd to the pc and moved some of the files from one support to the other, but this worked only for the files directly saved on the old s20+ to the sd, a lot of other documents was simply backed up on the sd and now everything has the extension *.JPG_ for instance or *.PDF_ with the underscore...
the back up is not visible from smartswitch and i have no more my s20+, so i cannot directly transfer the data from one device to the other.

so, to rephrase my question:
how can i recover a backup made on a sd to the new s21u?

I tried to manually select on smartswitch the folder with the backup, but smartswitch said there is no elements to recover... 😞

good to know you've installed the app already, so PC can detect the phones

-insert your SD card to SD card reader/adapter

-connect the SD card reader to PC

-copy files from SD card to PC (create a new folder)

-copy files from PC > S21U (now that PC detects the phone)
