"N" appearing on three dots in phone/recents/settings.

In my S21 an "N" in an orange disc appears on the three dots in Phone/Recents/Settings. If I open settings there is nothing to suggest what this "N" relates to and I cannot clear it.  Any thoughts please?

It means New, because its next to settings this indicates there is a new setting feature that has been added with an update

Thank you. How do I know which of the many settings this relates to and how do I remove the "N"?

I have just discovered that deep inside the settings there was an update for the phone available.  I have updated and "N" now removed. Thanks for your help.

I'm curious why there is an update "out-of-sequence" for this.  Shouldn't this app be updated through the regular Android update mechanism?
