I've only just received my S10 and know that phones get hot when you are doing the initial setup, while mine got VERY hot.
It also drained the battery down to 30% in about 2 hours, while installing 100 apps (from my last phone) + updates + setting up.
I've since used the phone and the top left (volume button side) get quite toasty, that's if I'm doing anything more than looking on Reddit etc, I have just used the camera for 2 minutes and the left side is now very hot.
That to me seems too quick to heat up. I had a oneplus 5t previous and it never got this hot.
I've tried resetting the cache, doing a full reboot. The phone does cool down quickly, so it's been 2 minutes since I used the app and now it's back to a normal temp.
Any suggestions?
Or have a list the silicon lottery and would be best to send back?

35 is very low, try gaming it could go at about 39. If I was you, I wouldn't worry with those result.
Check mine when I play Asphalt 9

I agree phones will heat up when going through the set up process and back ups etc being downloaded.
However on normal use it should only warm up a little if your using the phone intensively i.e gaming.
In all honesty if I was within the cooling off period I'd have this phone swapped out especially if it's getting "very hot" and "toasty"

Hi @TAIL , you can install Gsam Battery Monitor from Google Play Store and see your temperature each time of the day.
Please let us know the temperature and take a printscreen of it.. please allow a minimum of 1 hour before the FIRST READING or the value will be wrong. Waiting for this printscreen.
I put mine as exemple for my Note 10+...Temperature is the orange line.

As you can see above battery hit 35 and that was just looking on Reddit, the rest of the day was just reading WhatsApps or sat on the desk.
