Stop syncing Google Passwords (Samsung Galaxy A14)

Hello,

My Samsung Galaxy A14 seems to sync my passwords from Google Passwords (Settings > General management > Passwords and autofill > Google). There is a settings page for this, but I can't find an option to turn it off. Currently, I can view these passwords with my fingerprint or my PIN-code, which I don't want. I don't want my passwords to be available from my phone.

This is unrelated to Chrome; Chrome doesn't sync at all, and doesn't have my passwords stored.

How can I remove these passwords from my phone? Thanks in advance!

In Passwords, passkey and autofill, click on Google > Settings wheel, turn off Offer to save passwords.

In Google Password Manager, click on each stored account and click on delete to remove the saved credentials.

Will this keep my passwords in the cloud and on other devices? I've noticed that the "Offer to save passwords" switch syncs across my devices, and I do want to keep my passwords and keep it saving passwords on my other devices.

I am not sure, but I would expect that once you delete the credentials currently stored in Google, they will be deleted from every where. This is something that you will have to check.

Deselecting Offer to save passwords, will not save new credentials in Google.

I've tested, and it does delete the password everywhere, which I don't want. I also couldn't find the password manager app in the apps list to remove it. Do you have any idea how I can remove these passwords from my phone only?

I don't think it is possible to save passwords on one device and not have them synced on other devices where you have signed in with the same Google account. You may have to use a password manager other than Google.

It is possible on my old phone, which doesn't have built-in Google password manager support. It's kind of stupid that there's no option to disable this anywhere. It's also not in the settings for the synchronization of other Google services, like the calendar.

Thanks for your time anyway! I'll try asking it on the Google forum as well.
