Notifications not waking cover screen after UI 6.1 update

Very frustrating. Setting is turned on still in the cover screen menu. But now with the phone closed/folded I no longer see the screen wake to show a notification preview. Only get the vibration and sound and have to wake the screen by touching it. Samsung chat support are less than helpful

Including the setting: cover screen> notifications> turn on screen for notifications being set to on

I'm using the S23U with the smart view cover and it's working okay for me. I'm thinking there's another notification setting somewhere that needs toggling on but can't think what - there's quite a few of them.

Have you got another app installed that's maybe working against you here, something like Good Lock or similar?

No other apps installed like that. Have tried a factor reset which is taking absolutely ages to restore all my data and apps via Samsung smart switch. Been doing it now for the last several hours. And guess what... didn't fix it! Still no screen wake with notifications. Factory reset was on advice of Samsung technical support. I've got to say, they are quite useless. I don't believe the issue is with my phone but with ui 6.1. This update seems to have caused a ridiculous amount of different issues. I cannot see one thing that has been improved with it either. Only broken features which worked perfectly before

Thanks for taking the time to do that, I've checked and got my settings all exactly the same as you've got there, but still got the issue unfortunately! I did notice that text messages are waking the screen. And a smart doorbell app is as well. So it's not all apps, but definitely WhatsApp and the Samsung email app are not waking it. And these are probably the 2 which I find most useful
