Missing some SMS/Text messages after switching from G.Pxel to Samsung phone - S22

Hi everyone.

My old Pixel phone finally died. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S22

Everything from my old phone was regularly backed up automatically, contacts, photos whatsapp etc.

This was all restored to my new phone EXCEPT some SMS/Text messages from ONE contact.

All the other messages are there going back two years.

The missing messages are very important to me as they were from my Mum who passed away in March.

On my new phone I've gone into In google Drive---Backups--- GP2 & it states the last SMS backup was 18/7.

I've tried clearing the messages cache.

I'm not bothered about the other messages that restored, just want the missing ones.

Hope someone can help?

Are the texts still on the old phone so at least you still have them @Howard61  ?

I appreciate how important they are to you.

Unfortunately sometimes with back ups not everything will always transfer over sometimes.

Some people use Smartswitch to transfer over information too.

You could screenshot the texts on the old phone and then send them to the new phone as a workaround if there still present on the old phone.

Did you back your old phone to an online vault etc ?

Does the phone still power up at all ?

It was on auto back up to Google cloud

I haven't personally used that vault. 

It's a conundrum as to why your texts have backed up apart from this particular contact one !
