I bought myself a Note 9 phone, i'm afraid that i'm seeing everywhere that we are only allowed to use Near Fast Communication payment here in the UK. I travel a lot and being able to know that i can pay with my phone wherever i want with MST would really help me a lot. I would be more secure cause i won't need to bring my card all the time with me id i'm outside the country.

Thanks for that, @RonHowardOneza, at the moment only NFC is available on Samsung phones in the UK!

But are you planning to include Magnetic Secure Transmission, if not you are nothing different from Google Pay and Apple Pay. Whoever thought about this business approach didn't think about it twice. How can you take off the best feature you have on your app? So dissapointing.

It isn't Samsung's fault. VISA UK blocked it. It's the reason Samsung pay launched late in the UK. In the end VISA won and Samsung launched without.

Really. .? Wow I could have sworn I used it with my note8. I paid £70 for fuel once and clearly remember was asked to hold the phone to the side of the reader versus top as usual and it worked. Also from what i understand the max contactless payment you can make is £30. I could be wrong though.

It has definitely never worked in the UK, since it launched with the Galaxy 6. I specifically remember because in the launch DJ Koh said it was coming in the summer for the UK, and it didn't, in fact Samsung pay didn't launch in the UK until the galaxy 7 was out. The filing station your talking about is BP, they are the only company I have seen using NFC side readers. A couple of venders have let me exceed £30 on Google pay, but I have to unlock my phone to do it.

You're right. It was indeed a BP station. Probably like you said they have a higher limit for contactless. Man it sucks to realise this doesn't work. Its one of the features i keep boasting about to people. Seems like one less reason to own a Samsung.

This was the single reason I chose Samsung S10+ over iPhone 10Xs. So disappointing. I had this issue today were I couldn't pay with my phone, bc the vendor didn't supported nfc payments. I never carry any alternative payment method, so had to travel 2 hours to get my wallet and go back.
