Just got a new A55. An upgrade from my A53 which I was more than happy with, but wanted esim capability. I'm finding that the colours on the A55 are washed out compared to the A53 which is really disappointing, the contrast isn't as good as the A53 and the blacks are not as black. I believe this has been an issue on the S24 and Samsung did a software update to include a vividness slider. Hopefully there will soon be an update for the A55 ! #a55 #washedout #vividness

If you're still within your cooling off period then consider returning it or asking for a replacement.

I've not seen the phone for myself so I'm not sure if your phone has Adaptive Colour tone or Eye Comfort shield features like the S24. If so then try turning them off as this may improve the display.

I'm quite surprised this model is not up to your expectations and I've not heard any other reports regarding this problem. Please send feedback to Samsung via the members app. The more people complain, the faster Samsung can address it.

Hi, cheers. Yes, phone has Eye comfort shield but not adaptive Colour tone, just adaptive brightness. I just can't get it to look like the A53. Hopefully there will be a software update. I'm off to South Korea and japan for 2 weeks now so no time to return it and ask for a replacement. Thanks for your reply.

I also have the same issue with my Samsung A55, color quality is just terrible. My old A23 has better color quality. Pink appears like faded peach and black appears like brown. I have tried each and every setting on the phone and none seems to work.

The settings on screen mode Vivid/Natural don't seem to work at all. There no difference when either is selected. I feel short changed.

I hope we get an update to correct the issue otherwise it doesn't feel worth it.

Hi all!

I am happy to provide an update:

"Samsung continuously enhances Galaxy device experiences based on users’ feedback. The latest Galaxy A35/A55 Series’ display has been tuned for a more comfortable viewing experience. You may notice a difference in the colour of the display compared to previous models.

Samsung respect all of users’ various feedback about the colour of the display, and additional updates will be performed to enhance customer satisfaction and user’s choices."

At present, the A35 is scheduled to receive a software update in May to introduce a Vividness slider in the Display settings.

The A55, meanwhile, is scheduled to receive this software update in September.

Once the update has been downloaded and installed, and when the setting has been introduced, you can access it via the path below:

Settings > Display > Screen mode > tap Vivid > Advanced settings > adjust the ‘Vividness’ slider bar.

If ‘Natural’ is selected in Screen mode or ‘Eye comfort shield’ is enabled in Display settings, you are not able to adjust the ‘Vividness’ option as the ‘Advanced settings’ does not appear on the settings menu (To use the feature, please set ‘Vivid’ mode and turn off those options).
