My SSD (samsung T5 2tb) works fine on my laptop (dell xps 6300), but not when connected via a usb hub (Anker PowerExpand+ 7-in-1 USB-C PD Media Hub). The SSD keeps disconnecting and instantly reconnecting. It does this every 20 seconds or so.
It works fine when directly connected on the laptop. The hub is powered at 65W via usb PD and powers the laptop at 40W via its fixed usb-c cord, so the hub should be having enough power.
The issue appears when the SSD is connected via either usbC-to-usbC and usbA-to-usbC cables.
Have you dealt with this issue before and how did you resolve it please? I cannot let the SSD on the hub under the circumstances. It is unusable and I risk corrupting the files in it.
