I have 2 TVs that support Atmos via eARC. One is a 7 Series and the other is a CU7000.
I've been debugging some audio problems and used a utility to read the EDID directly off the TV HDMI connection to see what audio formats it claims to support. Basically in some scenarios I expect DolbyDigital+ to be sent to my sound bar but instead it's receiving PCM.
To my surprise I see that both TVs report support 8 channel MAT (MLP) (TrueHD only) for even when nothing is connected via eARC. My understanding is that these TVs can't render this format natively, and if that's the case it shouldn't report this format in its EDID.
