A friend has a Samsung HW-K650 soundbar system, connected via their wi-fi to a Samsung TV in a surround configuration. The subwoofer that was supplied with the soundbar is also wi-fi connected, and their two separate Samsung R1 rear speakers are also linked via their wi-fi network.
The soundbar itself seems to have died (the PSU cable is still outputting 24V, but the soundbar does nothing and has no lights). What is their best option to replace the soundbar portion only, in a way that will be compatible with the rest of their wi-fi surround setup?
Currys sold them a basic Bluetooth soundbar, and then an optical audio cable for it, which clearly wasn't going to sync with their described surround system at all, so I've advised them to get a refund on those.
Is it possible to get just the soundbar portion, with no sub as that's still working, as a replacement part?
