Why the ugly digital watch face every so often? (Watch 4 classic)

What is the point of selecting a nice, customized watch face if Samsung is just going to keep replacing it with the same, ugly digital one every so often?  I can't tell if it's when I have notifications (which would be pointless since they already have the blue dot for that).

Please make it stop.

I have the same watch but I haven't had that problem. Which watch face are you using? I use the default normally and I occasionally use a Facer one.

Are you referring to a black screen and white text displaying the time digitally? If so then that appears when the watch is restarted / powered up and awaiting entry of the pin code to unlock. Whilst in pre-unlock state then it's not connected to handset and you cannot access any watch features.
