WhatsApp messages not appearing on Samsung watch4

I have followed all the steps on samsung for going to wearable app go to notifications blah blah, but messages are still not showing on my new watch. Any help appreciated!

I know this sounds obvious but have you got Bluetooth activated on your phone as when I look at my phones icon it scrolls " Galaxy watch 4"

Yeah I have Bluetooth on, for some reason it has just started working and no idea why!
