Watch 4 - gpay - software does not meat standards

Watch 4 has started having issues with gpay which was working fine, I have removed and re-intalled the app but still get the same error whenever I try and pay.

 Your watch cannot make contactless payments as it doesn't meet software standards

It was working fine since the watch came out but stopped about 10 days ago, watch and apps fully updated

How to set up Google Pay on your Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Open the Google Play app on your Galaxy Watch 4.

Tap the search icon.

Speak or type Google Pay.

Tap the send/search icon.

Tap Google Pay.

Tap Install.

Tap Open.

I have exactly the same issue. Was working fine until last week now its stopped working with this message. Samsung pay is working fine.

I have tried a reset of the watch but it now doesn't allow the cards to add , I think there is a problem with the latest gpay app

I finally got mine to work today after a couple weeks of it getting that error. I had to uninstall GPay from my watch. Then I shut down my watch completely and then turned on my watch. Then reinstalled GPay from my watch and shut it down and turned back on again. It worked no issues.

I didn't have to delete it but it seems it's fixed finally and all working now
