Tracking Galaxy Watch

Looking to by my 11 year old a watch with cellular capability as they start school in September (if they go back at all).

Does anyone know if you can track the watch if it's not sync with your phone? eg, is it possible to track the watch through a website or some sort of 'find my device' service?

For note - we're on ios devices but prefer the look of the samsung watches
