How do I choose tennis in activity tracker in S health app on my Gear S3?  I see it listed in S health app on my phone but not as an option on my watch...

Any news on this subject?

The activities should support the same ones as Samsung Health in the Tracking watch (e.g. Gear Fit 2 Pro).

Hi all.

The developer has got back to us, and advised us that there are no plans in the near future to increase the range of activity on the Gear S3.

Is there already news on the subject of bringing (table) tennis activity tracking to the Galaxy Watch? It would be really helpful for a lot of people.

The matter of detail for pushups etc is enourmously. It would be really great to add a broather range in sports in general.

I advise the developer that it starts to plan in the near future to be more user friendly and includes on the Gear S3 all activities, depending on buyer’s needs, because we didn’t buy Gear S3 just to wear it as a jewelry, we are using it to monitore different sports... if this awareness does not change by the developer, I will, of course, sell it, because it's not usefull for me and my activities...

I should have read theses commentaries before buying this watch. Unfortunately Samsung is not interested on their customers. Tennis is a popular sport, so I don't understand why they don't listen to us

Hi guys! Just to update you: the developers have let us know that there are plans to slowly add new activities/functions to the Galaxy Watch. They haven't said any more than that, so it'll be mostly a case of exploring things in any updates you get - but if we do hear anything further ourselves, we'll let you know.

Hey,

Great to hear, since it's been quite long ago, I'll share how I'm tracking the exercises so far.

I use UA Record, alongside with MyFitnessPal, TennisTraq App, and Samsung Health with the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro.

The UA Record is better for tracking every exercise, Samsung Health is good for tracking Sleep and Steps, MyFitnessPal for food logging and sync everything. The TennisTraq is good, but isn't complete (shows some stats, but the HR and calories just use UA Record).

Hope this helps.

AntS, thanks a lot for this really great news!
I wouldn't want to be negative, but I really hope that this plans to "slowly" add new activities/functions to the Galaxy Watch do not mean that we will have to wait another year or two...so it would be great to hear when approximately do they really plan to add them. Is the plan for example the 1st half of 2019 or later...?

How slow is slowly? Still waiting for tennis, aquarobic and mountainbike. These profiles are available in the Health app but still not on the samsung galaxy watch active. So I have to change for these exercise back to polar.......

Indeed, Polar has huge range of different sports (more than 80).

Not only weight lifting, ... But real DIFFERENT sports types like tennis, badminton, ...

Next smartwatch Will be Polar again. Samsung? No thank you!!!

Samsung enrolled the info that they won't develop any extra sports for the current watches. In 1 year there will be (maybe) extra sports added, but this is NOT yet confirmed.

The only work around I have found is to 1. Record the activity on the watch as "other workout" 2. When you're done, open Samsung Health on your phone 3. Find the activity and press edit 4. You can then choose the activity you actually carried out (e.g. tennis) Hope this helps

You cannot use it in your watch, only in the phone.

We have all complained about things like this for years but welcome to Samsung world of support. Once they sell you a product they forget about you.
