Spotify killing the battery

Guys,

Spotify is giving the battery a hard time even if I don't actually use it on the watch. When I use Spotify on my phone or laptop, obviously I can control via the watch which I assume is the reason.

Can I stop this feature, but still keep it connected for downloading offline music etc?

Hey @rawkinrich ,

can I ask what watch and phone are you using and if you have tried to change the playback from standalone to remote on the App settings?

Remote mode means that you are using the watch as a remote controller.

Hiya,

I'm using the Samsung Galaxy s10e along with the Samsung Galaxy watch 4.

Can you point me in the direction of the stand-alone setting please as I'm not sure where to find it?

I only see downloads, connect headphones and third-party licences under Spotify settings....

Sure @rawkinrich! To do this, on your Watch4 go to Settings and select Playback – there, you can switch between Standalone and Remote modes.

I think I'm going nuts but in the Watch 4 settings I can't see Playback?

They may have changed this on this new version, have you tried to reach Spotify Support to see if this can be changed on the new version or any other Settings that you may need to change to keep the app draining the battery?
