Just about to take a shower this evening. So took my Watch 6 Classic off and dropped it down onto the carpet.
I was surprised but that triggered the fall detection feature. It then was about to call the emergency services if I didn't acknowledge it within a few seconds.
Although I think this is an awesome feature. I think it should of turned on its sensors first. Then it would of detected that the watch wasn't even on my wrist at the time.
😂 Yeah that's what I thought. When I rotated the bezel clockwise to cancel it. It asked me to improve fall detection by giving an answer to one of the following statements: 1. You fell but are ok. 2. You didn't fall.
It's a pity it didn't give me the option to comment further, as to the real reason.
Thing is, when someone takes a fall, who knows what will happen? They may knock their wrist against a wall on the way down and the watch strap break? There are all sorts of occasions when the watch could leave the wrist.
Technology cannot resolve everything. So I think the watch got this one right.
Only just read this as been out of action lately due to a stroke, but it would be ideal for me as I recently went on one of my walks taking photos by the River & old railway line when I got adventurous & climbed the side of an old bridge up a overgrown grassy slope, as I got near the top I hit a very wet patch & slid down into overgrown brambles, off the beaten track. I managed to get out then realised no-one would know or see me. I mentioned it to the wife sheepishly when she went crazy & called my son. Anyhow my son now tracks me via my Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2. I feel like a bloody child. But all things said, 2 weeks later I had a stroke while on my own with no one around due to a late lunch, I only had to press the tracker, fortunately I made it to the office for a first aider who called an ambulance & a 5 day stay in hospital for checks. I really recommend them. (You never know).
