Samsung Watch 4 Classic Burning My Wrist

I just got the new Samsung Galaxy 4 Classic. I have had it a little over a week now. My issue is it is putting a burn mark on my wrist where the sensor touches. I have my watch monitor all day to monitor my activity, heart rate, stress etc...

After a few days, my wrist started burning. (Please see the attached photos) I took the watch off for a few days and put on some coconut oil, and Epsom salt and it started to heal. What's left is a perfect circle that matches the very inner circle of the sensor.

This is very concerning to me as I wear normal watches every day and this does not happen. This seems like a laser issue with monitoring.

Hi,

My father had a problem similar to yours and he found to be allergic to the bracelet composition.

It might be possible that your skin has a reaction to the infrared wavelenght of the sensor.

Do you feel heat coming from the watch back?

Have you used any other smartband or smartwatch prior to this one? Any known reaction?

It appears like a heat or sunburn mark.

Keep safe!

Morning @B00TiKi

I would like to look into this with you, as we do take matters like this very seriously here at Samsung! I'll drop you a PM, as I will need to collect some personal details.

Hey,

Unbelievable 😳, I moved from the galaxy watch to galaxy watch 4 like 1 week now and I have no issue, might be you skin more sensitive?

I had a GW and then been wearing the GW4 Classic daily for nearly a month now with no issues. Could be skin is sensitive or sweat on skin or watch plate which is causing a slight reaction.
I do clean the rear of the watch before charging and re-wearing to make sure no residue is left.

I have the same issue as @B00TiKi.

I had been wearing my Galaxy Watch 3 for a year without issue but since receiving and wearing my Watch 4 Classic, I too have a mild burn mark on my wrist where the sensors sit.

My advice comes from being a UK Samsung iPhone user.

Current Devices:
  • iPhone 14 Pro 256GB Deep Purple
  • Samsung Galaxy Buds+ > Model: SM-R175.

It would be interesting if more owners could come forward and say if their experiencing the same, so Samsung could trace possible issues or at least identify a pattern (health issues, skin type, others).
