Samsung smart watch 42mm has burnt my wrist

I've had this watch for just over a year now it has been working great - no problems at all until about 3 weeks ago.

Out of nowhere it starts overheating and burning my wrist - it stings so much. Then a warning messages appears stating the watch is overheating and will shut down. I thought it was a one of thing at first until it happended a few times after.

I've tried to figure out why all of a sudden it started happening, the only thing that I had done differently was sync the watch to a new phone and update it. I even tried to reset the watch to factory setting to see if it would help. Today i thought it was fixed but all of a sudden the stinging sensation came back and had to take it off quickly.

Please can someone assist in how I could fix this 😞
