Not sure if you're still looking in to this, but if so, here's some info about the Gear Sport that may be of interest to you:
"Gear Sport has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under the ISO standard 22810:2010. It is not suitable for diving or high-pressure water activities. If the device or your hands are wet, they must be dried thoroughly prior to handling."
You can also sync it with Speedo On, Speedo's new Tracking app, depending on region.
