Hi just go into the watches play store & search for the Google assistant & it will either give you an option to update or to install, i know you've installed it just uninstall it & try the way I suggested just incase.

Very disappointed to see that Google assistant doesn't support routines on the GW4. So cannot use smart home routines on watch when away from home. Very disappointing . Waited all this time for it and it can't even run smart home routines .
