I've bought my galaxy watch yesterday and everything is working perfectly except for the whatsapp call. Im recieving all notifications even from whatsapp when someone sends me a message but when it comes to whatsapp call the watch doesn't vibrate or do anything to inform me that someone is calling me on whatsapp untill the call ends then the watch sends me a notification that i have a missedcall. However, im recieving phonecalls normally and when someone calls me a normal phone call the watch vibrates and allows me to answer or decline. Is their something i should turn on or do for the watch to inform me when someone is trying to call me on whatsapp like vibration or anything and not just send me a notification about a missed call when the call ends?
I got a Whatsapp call notification on my watch. I bought my galaxy watch a month ago. I keep my phone note 9 and watch on vibrate. I realized I was not getting call notifications on my watch until one day my GF called me on WhatsApp and my watch started vibrating, I was thrilled, I figured my watch updated overnight and now the functionality was there. So after that call, I used someone's phone to call me via WhatsApp and it didn't work. I remembered that when my GF called me my phone was not on vibrate it was on loud, so I figured that maybe the reason, I tried and no luck. I know I am not imagining this but I think it is possible for it to happen.
My problem is same with you. I bought my samsung galaxy watch active 2 days ago and it can’t give pop up on my watch when there is a whatsapp call like regular phone call. I’m using Samsung Galaxy Note 9. However when my watch is pairing with iPhone it can perform properly and give pop up too when I get whatsapp call. How come it can work with the iPhone but it can not work with his family Samsung. I’m so struggling about this and very dissapointed bought Samsung Galaxy Watch Active. Please share solutions anyone of you guys if you already found the solutions to fix it. Thank you so much. Cheers.
Just an update. This afternoon tested again. Whatapp notifications of chats do sound on the watch but a whatsapp call does not ring on my watch, no matter if sound is on/off on the phone. Checked if setting are correct and if person is not blocked, again:)
I managed to get mine to ring by playing with WhatsApp notification settings on phone. Perhaps it doesn't ring for a person who is set to block notifications/sounds on phone? Try it with someone whose notifications you have not blocked. I started ticking and unticking adhoc tick boxes In WhatsApp app settings .
However second problem is that I cannot answer or speak via the watch like I can do with normal call. It states answer / decline and when I answer it states CHECK YOUR PHONE meaning can't hear person and cannot speak through watch if phone is a certain distance away you need to get the phone to talk and hear. Can't this be fixed to work like a normal call on Samsung galaxy watch?
I have no idea. I also had a different number on another phone and I called my usual phone number via whatsapp call and it worked . Try calling a normal call from another phone then do a what's app call. I gave no idea how it worked. I used a different prepaid card from another country (which in use when I go there) to do the test call and WhatsApp call and it worked somehow
Seems, S3 frontier is not recieving watsapp calls on it.?
Being such a branded company, still fixing this small issue is taking huge time. Kindly do fix.
People in abroad will always get calls from family/friends only via watsapp. Please understand this and fix it asap.!
Its taking so long because Samsung doesn't care for their customers after selling a buggy product. I have several Samsung products at home and a very a happy user of them, but the Watch is a pain and so it the support 😞
I had bought me a galaxy watch for christmas. I'm going to return it without even opening it. This lack of whatsapp functionality and google services, and lack of care from samsung is unacceptable and made me change my mind. I'm not going to give all this money for keeping a bulky thing on my wrist that does pretty much nothing significant
Sounds like the best thing to do. Fitbit is owned by google so I expect things can only get better in terms of software and apps.
I bought the galaxy watch on cyber monday without having time to do any research but confiding on the long established partnership between samsung and google, but I'm returning it mainly because the two seem to be in competition now, at least when it comes to watches. And we all know there's no competition of course.
Samsung, come on...
I paired my Polar Vantage V with a Note 10 and it vibrates on incoming whatapp calls. Had to enable silent notifications in phone->settings->notifications for whatsapp.
Unfortunately the exact same settings don't work with my Galaxy watch.
Yeah, it's kinda sad to admit it but I also have a Garmin fitness tracker that can vibrate on various incoming calls, including Whatsapp. How lame is its, that we have the latest Samsung tech and it can't do it too.
Its even worse that no one of Samsung even care and say anything about this issue. Having an issue is one, not even replying and taking the customers serious is so bad. Never heard of the voice of the customer I guess.-(
I have the same issue. I could get the call notification when linked up with Iphone but didn't get any when I i connected it to my S10. Very insane. I didn't new this before I got this watch. And whats with the whatsapp call. Why can't they get the whatscall working. Amazign samsung. You guys are worst then those chinese smartwatches which are way cheap and they work. LOL.
