Samsung galaxy watch 3 deep sleep tracking issues

(Topic created on: 01-09-2020 01:53 PM)

I have had my Samsung Galaxy watch 3 for a few days now, litterally as it came out, I had it.

I was really excited for the watch but there are a few issues with it, mainly the deep sleep tracker is not working properly.

For the first 3 days when I bought it, the deep sleep tracking was working fine. But since then, it keeps telling me that I have 0% deep sleep, or very low percentage like 3%. I know this is wrong as I feel energised.

I have so far read a few articles on people with the same issues.

I have tried doing four things:

1. Factory reset

2. Go to the hidden diagnostic section of the watch by dialling #*0*# (or something like that)

It gave me access to the sensors etc, and I reset the settings, calibrating the sensors with a PASS feedback on all sensors.

3. In the screen wake up section of the advanced setting of the watch, I  turned off Wake-up Gesture and touch wake up. I have bezel wake up turned on.

4. Touch sensitivity, do not disturb, goodnight mode and theatre mode are all turned off.

Please let me know how I can fix this issue... I am very disappointed with the watch so far even though I am a great Samsung fan.

I've got the same problem with GW4. I've also got Sleep as Android, but it shows too much of deep sleep (72% today vs. zero in Samsung Health).

Has Samsung ever acknowledged this problem with sleep tracking? Are there any plans at all to fix it?

Not at all!
I am waiting for an email about my watch 4, same issue with sleep and I cannot get NFC to work with Google Pay 😞

adding my support and telling Samsung (if they ever read this) that I have the same issue.

This single BioActive Sensor measures your heart rate, blood oxygen level, and stress level. It can also monitor your blood pressure, detect an irregular heartbeat and calculate your body composition.

If your watch isn’t tracking your sleep at all, make a backup of your watch and then reset your watch. After resetting, connect to your recent backup and run through the steps below to ensure sleep tracking is set up correctly.

If you haven’t done this already, we must ensure sleep tracking is correctly configured.

First, you need to pair the Samsung Galaxy Watch with a smartphone. While you can use sleep tracking independently, a smartphone keeps the results over days, weeks, or even months of sleep tracking.

And that’s a good way of motivating yourself to do better. Use your Galaxy Watch3 to track your sleep and analyse how effective your sleep was. The Galaxy Watch3 will monitor and track the different stages (Awake, REM, Light & Deep) of your sleep and give you a better understanding what your body is doing during each stage. Your heart rate and motion data is also recorded throughout your sleep and provide you a score against other individuals in the same age bracket as you. Follow the below guide to learn how to track and understand your sleep score.Sleep management functions (REM cycles, deep sleep, and total sleep time) on the watch can be used as standalone, but smartphone pairing is recommended in order to see sleep score. Insight only available on paired smartphone. Galaxy Watch3 is not a medical/therapeutic device. Fitness and health functions (including SleepScore and Fall Detection) are for informational purposes only.
