Media controls battery drain

Afternoon. I wonder if anyone can help me? I have recently bought a Samsung watch 4. The battery life is pretty shocking compared to my Fitbit Versa 3 but the fact that all media on my phone goes through the watch decimates my battery level. I have disabled the controls thinking this would stop things but nope! It still shows the blue music symbol every time I play anything on my phone. Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Disconnec the watch from the phone and the symbol will not appear.

You can turn on WiFi for maintaining connection with the Phone, but this option will also drain battery.

I will give that a go thank you. It's a shame that you have to do stuff like this and stop the full facilities of the watch

Same issue. Constantly see my watch die after a few hours of streaming a Twitch stream to Chromecast. 50% to dead in 3 hours.
