Hi,

On all my previous Samsung watches, on the lock screen, the notification would be the app symbol only.

However, the Galaxy 4 shows who it is from.
Eg. WhatsApp, it shows their profile icon. Not just the generic WhatsApp icon.

Is there a way to stop this.?

Hiya,

I've been through that page already.
It doesn't really cover it.

So I've got it selected to not show details.
But it still shows who sent whatever it was.

Whereas on my phone, it'll come up with say just the WhatsApp icon.
As did the previous 2 watch models.

@Chris781: If you have your lock screen notifications set up to Hide Content, then this refers to the contents of the notifications themselves, and won't necessarily hide the details of the sender. Have you tried heading to Settings > Notifications > Show Phone Notifications On Watch, to see if there are any options here that might help? Also, on your phone, head to Settings > Apps > Whatsapp > Notifications > Lock Screen > Hide Content, to see if this helps.

Tried all the above. Is as it should be.
It's contradicting their own phone and own watch settings previously.

Hide content, meant you get a generic icon only.
Email, text, WhatsApp, Facebook etc.
It's like a glitch.

And if it isn't, then it's going back

Apparently, according to Samsung, this is how the new watches are meant to be.

So when they say "hide details" unlike previous models and their phones, they actually mean, "hide some details".

Rarely do manufacturers go backwards on privacy.
But I find this one really bonkers.
And I'll be sending the watch back.

How do I get Samsung to actually look at this.?
Cos I don't understand why they've gone backwards on privacy options.

Samsung are basically saying this is how the new watch is set up.
