Left ear bud stopped working

Is this a.common problem? 
The case doesn't even recognise that the ear bud is there - it's doesn't shows up battery perce take on my phone - it's like its non existent.

I've tried all the tips and tricks to re-pair and this works for all of a few minutes , I've done updates , made sure ots charged overnight- all the usual stuff - but its as if the left bud isn't recognised. 

I've had them.for months - but only just started to use them as I've signed up at the gym and wanted to take them with me 

Any ideas would be much appreciated x

Hi,
Try shutting down the buds
For 30 seconds
Then try pairing
To your phone
And check if both earbuds
Are working
