Issue with exercise tracking after update

I have an issue since update when tracking indoor rowing. I normally use screen on mode, but since the last update, the watch ow freezes when tracking and the screen switches off. The exercise does track accurately overall, but I need accurate use of the screen during my row.

@robwright477: Please can you confirm the model name/number of the Watch you're using? 

It is possible that activating the Indoor Rowing workout is automatically enabling Water Lock mode, which can prevent touch screen interactions while active. With this in mind, try swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom, and check to see if Water Lock mode is enabled (the icon looks like 2 overlapping water droplets). If it is, tap to disable the feature (if possible).

It is watch 7, SM-L310. Water lock definitely not on. Screen becomes u responsive for periods of time, and the timer and all other activities freeze. Unresponsive to buttons, and eventually, the screen turns off. It will eventually come back to life.

@robwright477: To address any software issues, please try pressing and holding the Home and Back buttons simultaneously for around 7 seconds until the Watch restarts. 

If the issue persists, head to Settings > Display > Always On Display > On > Select 'Samsung Health' from the series of options.

Same issue.  Have always on during workout selected.  Even went as far to turn watch always on.  Have already done factory reset as well, did not fix.

While in exercise, treadmill for me, the timer freezes for sometimes as long as 6 minutes or so.  Was working just fine prior to the recent update

I just called samsung support and they told me to do a factory reset but im not going to bother after reading this as mines a cellular watch and it's a lot of hassle re pairing the e sim , you would think they would test the watch before deploying an update mines useless now during workouts timer stops so I don't know how many seconds between sets I am now

Would be nice if we could undo the update and revert back to previous one

And not only is it still freezing, now I have to retrain it for my mileage.  Hopefully they come up with a quick fix, it's the main reason I still wear the watch as often as I do.

Same here! Very frustrating, I have to physically wake my watch now to see any workout stats. Was fine before update. I've restarted phone and watch, etc but still not working as it should 🤨
