Just found my watch bought in the UK and owned in the UK is not covered by UK warranty because it was made in China. The watch was a gift to me and I had no way of controlling which outlet it was purchased from... tried to register on SamsungUK website to be shown the message :
"Additional services are limited for products not purchased in your current location.
Please check for the country location of purchase."
Then followed a lengthy "chat" with a support agent to understand the message... only to be told nothing can be done about it...
😞😠 😱

@Members_npiDSEv: I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment surrounding this matter. I can confirm that, due to software and hardware variances that exist in our devices from country to country, you will experience compatibility issues with some apps and features when using the Watch outside its intended region. I absolutely understand that this is not ideal, and that it is out of your control, however this is not something that can be altered in the settings of the device.

That's all well, but since that's a factor that might change someone's decision about buying the product (as evidenced by the number of people caught out) it should state this fact on the box. Legally, in the UK at least.

I don’t understand. Is this 2024 in the global village?
I was always proud of Samsung's anti-monopoly and open rules and preached about it among my friends and acquaintances. I think both Samsung and I should reconsider this sooner.
When I buy a product, I should have access to the features at least based on the place I would use it, not the place I just bought it.

Why on earth should anyone have to do this?! Apple users don't need to jump through these hoops. People travel, people move. Samsung needs to get with the times already.
