I bought a Gear Sport and am having trouble with its Wi-Fi. It doesn't seem to work at all.
(I am having this problem when using my S8 and the Oreo Beta, I just tried when the watch is paired with an iPhone 8 and Wi-Fi works.)
I can turn Wi-Fi on but when the Gear Sport scans for networks it does not find anything. If I enter the details of a network, it does not find it. I know my home network is there, my phone is connected, my laptop is connected, lots of things are connected, just not the Gear Sport.
The same thing happens if I sync my Wi-Fi Profiles from my phone or not.
The same thing happens if I reset the Gear Sport. And if I don't update the firmware on the phone, the same thing happens. If I do update the firmware, the same thing happens.
It looks like Wi-Fi is not working at all.
Anyone seen this? Anyhing I can try? Other than returning the watch.
I left the Oreo Beta programme, reinstalled the latest official software, paired my watch, and it works fine.
Shame about the Beta programme, I liked the new version. And I didn't expect the Beta phone OS to stop Wi-Fi working on my watch. It also made registering a card with Samsung Pay on my watch a real pain.
