Im looking to buy the s3, but need to know if it can sync with the phone without the PHONE gps enabled. I recently purchased a fitbit Versa and in order to receive texg/call notifications, the phone gps must be on (draining my battery). They claim this is a mandatory handcuff by Android and is out of their control. Seems utterly ridiculous to me. Has anyone used their S3 without the phone gps on and still receive notificstions and fitness features (HR tracking, step counter etc)? Also, are there apps like google event calendar and weather info available on the S3?
