Gear Fit 2 pro Weather app failure

I can't set up the weather app to show weather data on the band. On both the band and the mobile when I try to set location for the weather app settings I get  an error message popup on the mobile saying Gear Fit Plugin has stopped and it won't go any further. I've seen postings saying it needs AccuWeather on the mobile ✓ I have it - still no good.

Anybody have any clues ?? Does it only work with Samsung phones ??

I have my Gear Fit2 Pro synced to my Huawei NXT L09 and the weather won't work either. After trying all the suggestions from instore, Samsung support and other online references the response was it's a compatibility issue. Even tried with another fit2 pro device and it was the same outcome. Not happy about that one.

Here's another issue with the app... I have it configured for Fahrenheit  and it shows Fahrenheit for current temp and today by the hour, but the upcoming daily forecast is in Centigrade.  What's up with that???

I have the same issue on Samsung note9, the watch just says 'add current location' and doesn't show the weather
