Galaxy Watch stopped tracking sleep

Hi, I've had my Galaxy Watch (46mm) for 18 months and it was working fine, tracking everything (sleep. steps, floors, hear rate, etc.) until about 3 months ago when it stopped tracking my sleep.  The app on the watch, when I go to "Sleep" it says "No data" and it shows "--" on the Resting HR on the Hear Rate screen.

I read a number of articles on internet and couldn't find any solution.  I already did a factory reset of the watch and it didn't work.

I have the latest versions of firmware and software (Samsung Health) both on my watch and my phone (a Galaxy S10+).

Also, my wife has a Galaxy Watch Active and when I use that smartwatch it tracks sleep perfectly.  So it seems to be something with the Galaxy Watch mine.

Would it helpful if I send a dump log of the system?

I'd really like if you guys can shed some light on this as I'm frustrated with this lost of functionality of my watch.

Thanks in advance.

Javier.

I don't think Samsung is trying to force people into buying new watches. I have a brand new Galaxy 5 Pro and the sleep function is trash for me. I've had it for about 2 weeks now. It has only accurately recorded sleep for 4 different nights. About 50% of the time it screws up, it is not recording anything at all. The other 50% of the time it messes up it's inaccurately recording duration. I'll go to sleep at 10:30 pm and it will say I went to sleep at midnight (I fall asleep fast and know that's false). Or, it'll stop recording at 3 or 4 am, on the dot, with no data afterward (I wake up at 6:30 am). Whatever the issue is, it's just an expensive piece of garbage.

However, my fiance also has this watch and hers has worked every single night without issue...

GeneraLeaf, I'm sure you might have tried this, but I found adjusting the tightness or looseness of the wristband helped solve the problem you described. Give it a crack. My watch never misses a beat when it comes to tracking sleep. It even detects short naps.

Do you wear it snug or loose. Do you wear it high on your wrist? I think position is key but hard to do.

Also, my watch showed the dashes for last night and I opened the app on my phone and it showed the duration on there but the watch didnt..that makes no sense to me. So the watch had to record it because my phone was on the floor. I'm confused!

Hello! I'm here 3 years later with the exact same problem. Did you find any solution?

Thanks!

Hi there.

I originally posted on 13/7/2021 and found that pushing the reset for 7 seconds helped me.

I haven't been wearing my watch for over a year now. However at the time, it fixed my problem.

All the best.
