Galaxy Watch/Samsung Health on iPhone

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone had the same issue as I am.

I'm using a galaxy watch and my partner is using a galaxy watch active. Both of us are on iPhone 11 (bought the watch when we had Samsung phones but just didn't get on with the phone, hence the change, but love the watch and didn't want to change to an Apple Watch).

When we check our steps on Samsung Health, it's counting both the steps from the watch and the phone, so obviously it's counting way more steps than we're both actually taking. It does say that:

'if your phone and watch are connected, your total step count will be automatically calculated based on the steps recorded by both devices'

My main question is, how do I stop the phone adding steps as the total does not seem accurate at all!

Thanks in advance!
