I have the new Galaxy watch, received on 7th September and after 1 recorded exercise the heart rate monitor is flatlining after 10 minutes.
First walk
First run below
Second recorded walk
I am annoyed as I want to keep track of my heart rate during exercise. I also wonder if this effects the calories burned if it cannot record the heart rate correctly.
This appears to be a common theme for Samsung watches as my husbands S3 did the same, purchased Sept 2017, at the beginning of the year.

It have definitely something to do with the Bluetooth in the car. Today I tried the watch in an old car without Bluetooth and there was no problem with the HR. Now I installed the new FW R805FXXU1ESE6 and I have no clue what the new update brings 😀

Today in gym started with -- pff..
However after 3-4 minutes went smooth the whole workout
More than that, while driving my car, although tight and correctly positioned I've found the watch with 10 minutes ago last read. Hit a restart and everything came back smoothly.
So much much better however not perfect

Like Andrei, I have also decided to give the galaxy watch another try
Good news is that they fixed the heart rate issue. The only issue I am having is the calories burnt on the "other workout" to track my jump rope seems low.
I'm stuck between this and my fenix 5.

I suggest you to set Intensity to vigorous in the other workout settings
Haha, you got the Fenix too? I'm 100% that I'll return the Fenix 5 although a great watch with great sensors but the display inside was really ugly and also, not my words but it is too much fitness clock for me it's a bit more professional
I'm looking for a mix between fitness and smartwatch and Galaxy Watch is perfect

Yeah the fenix 5 is a great watch. Looks and feels like a watch.
The galaxy watch is now a proper smartwatch with this improvement.
I will change that setting to vigorous and give it a go.
I can see why you left the fenix. The display is something else on the galaxy watch.
How long battery life you getting on the galaxy watch?

The battery seems to discharge a bit too fast than I remember it was discharging 1 month ago, but I didn fully charged to see how much it last.
Found the HR stucked with green lights off for 40 minutes
Went to stress tile and started flashing back

I would suggest you keep the fenix. Its still more accurate for cardio when compared to a chest strap.
The galaxy watch seems to work better at strength training. I like how the fenix counts the reps.
Heres a comparison with the 2 watches doing cardio. Heart rate almost spot on. Calories burnt is more accurate on the fenix.
