I'd like a smartwatch (customised face, notifications, maybe payment) but I don't really want a fitness monitor. I may be weird, but I've discovered that I'm not alone and found a few discussions online, but such a device doesn't seem to exist any more. In this discussion:

https://www.reddit.com/r/smartwatch/comments/m9e2mz/a_nonfitness_smartwatch_does_it_exist/?rdt=34501

the Galaxy Watch 4 gets a mention because, so it's claimed, you can disable all the fitness stuff. However, I've read elsewhere about problems with people trying to do that.

I've found a relatively cheap deal on the Watch 4, so can somebody please confirm that you can switch off all fitness functions and preferably all the associated sensors to save battery life?

Can you, for example, disable the fitness app completely?
