Can anyone explain why it is that to count steps there is a choice of watch and phone, or just phone, but none for just watch.
Counting steps with just my watch is how I want to go.

I would think it depends on whether you take your phone with you when you go out for exercise. Some people want to leave their phone at home so I would set it to watch and phone, leave your phone at home and see what happens.
