Galaxy watch 4 - AOD not updating time

When using third party watch faces (I'm not talking about Facer and the like, just 'normal' faces) the AOD time doesn't update. It works for a few minutes or so and then it's like it goes to a sleep mode, the clock is frozen until I lift my wrist. I've checked with a lot of third party watch faces and they all do it. It's like some kind of aggressive battery management. Samsung watches faces are working fine.
This is so annoying as its basically a broken features, and a key one too, kinda useful to check the time on a watch...
Anyone else noticed this and managed to resolved that somehow?

Thanks, had a look but it basically just say to switch off battery save mode, which I already don't have enabled, along with night and theater modes lol

Just tried today, turning off the 'lift to wake' option seem to keep the AOD running without any freezing, a bit weird but that's my work around for now
