Wow... two years later and people are still having this problem.
I decided that I'd go though this massive thread and try to compile all the possible fixes, to make it easier for people to (hopefully) find a solution that works for them. Let's go...!
1. Pair with another non-galaxy device
2. Blow on the speaker driver
3. Clean the metal mesh under the cover
4. Check for defects and ensure proper charging
5. Toggle "Call Audio" and "Media Audio"
6. Adjust "Media Volume Sync"
7. Battery Discharge
8. Reconnect Speaker Cable
9. Throw them against a wall 😅 (?)
10. Reset the ear buds
I hope that at least one of these solutions will get them working again for you.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!
Good Luck! 🤞
I've been using my Galaxy Buds for about 2 days now and this afternoon when I put then in, I noticed that the right earbud is significantly quiter than the left. I would say about 75% quieter.
When I put the left bud in, it chime as usual, but now when I but the right bud it, it doesn't chime at all.
I've tried up-paring and re-pairing them to my Galaxy S10+ and have also reset them from within the Galaxy Wearables. My Galaxy Wearables app is up to date, as is the.software on my Galaxy Buds.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Is seems that lots of people had this issue wi h the 2018 IconX Buds, could if be something similar?

Hey so I've tried all of the solutions listen and none have worked. They were fixed temporarily after unpairing and repairing the earbuds to my phone, and now it's the same again. The left earbud is so much quieter than the right. I know it's not my hearing I just got it tested, so I have no idea what could be happening. I've had my earbuds for just under a year now, so this shouldn't happening.

This didn't work for me.
I've reset, connected to a different device, cleaned them carefully (did not remove silver foil) and cycled the "call audio" and "media audio" settings.
I'm flummoxed.

I know, 2 years late -still. This is for those who still face the issue. My left bud was significantly quieter compared to the right, but both showed 70% charge. I tried resetting, un-pairing and pairing it to a different device - no luck. Then i noticed that the charging point on the left bud had a mark as if the bud was inserted into the case improperly. There was a small dent on the left bud.
Its probably because when the bud was left in the case the last time it was lodged and so was not charged properly. Although this was the case , i still saw that my buds had 70% charge each according to the app.
I realized this could probably be a bug and so left the buds in the case after making sure that the case registered both of them this time. The central light in the case flashes when each bud is placed correctly. Make sure it is not lodged this time and leave it for charging for 20 mins (in my case).
I created an account just to leave an answer for anyone still searching.
Hope it helps..

Throwing my galaxy earbuds at the wall actually worked 😂

I tried everything and nothing worked except this video. I did accidentally damage the tiny rubber seal and the mesh grid wouldn't stay in place. I then used a bit of art masking fluid, applied with the tip of the needle, very sparingly. It worked perfectly. Problem solved and both headbuds working again.

Just wanna say I used a dusting air can and I could literally see the ear wax come out of the mesh from the back end pressure. Thanks for the tip it worked!

The suggestion of just blowing down the grill worked for me to!
